Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi got famous in some Asian markets with its budget-friendly range, however, it began wandering into the premium segment a year ago, after it was transformed into a standalone brand, much like Poco. Despite now having a more extensive gadget portfolio, Redmi has kept up its attention on the lower end of the spectrum, where it keeps on getting the maximum traction. Extending its famous sub-$200 Note series, the Chinese brand will report the Redmi Note 9 series one week from now in India.
The Twitter page of Redmi India posted a teaser before today, uncovering that the 2018 Redmi Note 8 line is set to get its follow-up on March 12. The picture going with the tweet incorporates a noticeable ‘9’ with what resembles a camera housing having four sensors. Xiaomi is touting both the camera and performance aspects of the upcoming handsets in this teaser. The Note-branded gadgets released in the previous barely any years have consistently had two variants—one standard and another with the Pro moniker. Even though Xiaomi hasn’t explicitly referenced anything about the Pro model, it is relied upon to follow the trend and bring two phones this time around as well.
Around a similar time the tweet was posted, a page devoted to the Redmi Note 9 series went live on Amazon India’s website. The graphics series on that page stresses on the gaming, design, and fast charging abilities, other than reiterating the camera and performance part. With this Amazon listing, it’s protected to say that the Redmi Note 9 series will retail solely through the online store, nearby Mi’s stores and other offline channels. There is no word on when the new phones will come to other international markets after their debut in India.
